With a lot of bad weather this month we have been limited to shorter trips and smaller travel distances, but it’s not all been bad news with exceptional numbers of mackerel and tuna being caught in close. We have been using a lot of berley to attract these schools of fish and getting them right up under the boat to the point where in some cases we are watching the fish eat the lure or bait, our best session was over two days were we boated 50+ mackerel and left us with some very happy customers.

Along with the pelagics the reefs have also improved close to home with catches of cobia, snapper, trag jew, moses perch, pearl perch, cod, sweetlip, tusk fish and a few bonus mahi mahi.

Over the next month or so as the weather continues to cool down we should start to see some bigger Spanish mackerel move in 20kg+ and also more snapper and winter varieties come back on the chew. The weather should also start to improve (we can only hope) which will allow us to venture further whilst enjoying some nice conditions.

Look forward to getting you involved. See you on the water
